A good nights sleep, another fantastic day, a little cooler as it was early morning and a 15 minute shuttle ride from the hotel. All the courses we played include range balls in their rounds, so you get a nice warm up, get your refreshments, practice chipping and putting and off you go.
My cart buddy today was Lorraine aka Lozza, we hadn’t played together so that was good. Our 3rd was Peter aka Pierre. This course was a Pete Dye designed course and the hardest in the US when it was first built, it is now the hardest in California.
Lozza was under strict instruction, no margheritas for me.
Rosco was the star of the show with a whopping 43 points which included a wipe. I was the best girls score with 32 closely followed by Caroline and Belinda with 31 points.
I donated quite a few balls to the golf course, you had to know where to land. There were lots of doglegs around water, lots of grass bunkers and fast undulating greens.
The signature hole is an island green par 3, which after a suggestion from Robbo I played off the whites and parred it. Yowza! Couldn’t get a par from the ladies tee, but let’s not mention that.
Every where you looked you wanted to take a photo, here are some to give you a flavour.
