It was a great day for skiing, but Shazzy’s sore feet, Jen’s cold, Neil nursing his wife it was only John and Sid who were keen to ski. They decided not to in the end – I think it got too late and all too hard.
Neil used his birthday present of a helicopter flight over the basin with a snow top landing. Even though he was booked in for a snow landing, they asked if he minded dropping some people off at a winery, mum – no that is fine! It was a cracking day for it and according to Neil you could see for miles and miles. Here are some of the photos;
John and Sid had a day strolling around town, brainstorming ideas to make money. They had mandatory burger in Queenstown.
Jen and I, whilst we were supposed to be resting we went on a DIY rampage and built shelves in the owners store cupboard, replaced the lock on the guest bathroom – so Sid can shower without the trepidation of Sue or Birdie entering. Changed the light bulbs, fixed the kitchen door, manufactured a ski rack (which is brilliant – even if I say so myself).
Then last night we tried out the Jervois Steakhouse and wow what a great restaurant. I did nearly choke when the special of the day was a Wagyu 200g for $80 – then you know that you are in for a big bill! I don’t think that I have ever had a better steak. Loved it.
