Another day on the golf course – BORING! Not.
Today we travelled to the Old Course, which was a short distance away. Frank Pennink designed parkland style layout is one of the oldest in the region and it was like being at Augusta, narrow trees surrounded by Pine trees with massive elevations. It was incredible, if you hit a ball into a pine Tree it took about 5 mins for it to drop the trees are that thick. Very irritating when you got into the trees, it seemed to take ages and several shots to get out of them.
The golf carts didn’t have GPS in them “shock horror” so it was back to our phone GPS and working our way around the course old school. We were playing behind this 3 ball of Germans – who were not impressed when we drove tot he 2nd green which unbeknownst to us was right in front of the 3rd tee that they were trying to tee off on. Then they were less impressed when we hit up on them as we didn’t see them looking for a ball in the right rough. When ever we drove up to our drives or the tee on a par 3 they kept looking back at us like it was our fault that they skied a ball out of the bunker or they skulled a chip over the green. The final straw was when I drove into them (again not seeing that one of them was in the trees on the right) their revenge was putting a pine cone behind my ball – as if that would scare me. Grumpy az…
Then it was back home to the family and the inviting swimming pool and the newly Sharon Thompson designed indoor Crazy golf course, hole n0 1, along the carpet into a plastic cup, Hole 2, under the sofa into another cup. No 3, across the hall into a town. No 4, into the V of the fan stand, No 5 up the top of the stair case, down the stairs into the bucket. No 6 – borrow cup from hole no 1 and putt into that across the hall. No 7 into shays legs and No 8 into the real crazy golf hole. No 9 under the table where the ball disappears.
Did we make Patty laugh – YES, tales of Patty being locked in the shower in Orange amused her and the rest of the group.
Sock tan has gone, shirt tan gone – you would never know that I played golf. Way behind on the step goal.
